In addition, we are utilizing pre-adipocytes and myoblasts as models to pursue the mechanisms by which IGF-induced proliferation or differentiation is potentiated by other factors (Fig. 4). We propose that the mechanisms of synergism between IGF and other factors provide the molecular framework that coordinates specific bioactivities in the right tissues at the right times (Fig, 5).
