Based on these key observations, we focus primarily on three projects as follows (Fig .2):
PROJECT 1: Elucidation of mechanisms of potentiation of IGF-I signals by other factors
PROJECT 2: Elucidation of molecular mechanisms in GH, IGF and insulin resistance under various physiological conditions
PROJECT 3: Elucidation of mechanisms of modulation of IGF/insulin signals through insulin receptor, IGF-I receptor, and IRS family proteins
Recently we also initiated the following two projects with our collaborators.
PROJECT 4: Elucidation of compensatory mechanisms in insulin/IGF resistance in various tissues/organs.
PROJECT 5: Elucidation of evolutionary physiological significance of modulation of IGF/insulin signaling
